Changing a job for better opportunity and walking a step forwards the success is extremely exciting for working people. However, before leaping towards a new job opportunity in a new company you should consider a few factors related to the company i.e. your new employer, apart from salary and the other benefits they have offered you at the time of final selection.

Co-workers: Perhaps it may not always possible for you to get to know all the colleagues you will be working with in the future. At the beginning you will only get to know your immediate seniors and few others with whom you interact frequently. To get familiar with them and know their ‘strong points’ you have to explore further. Do not ever expect that the personality and the character of the recruiter to match with the company. Try to interact with as many people as possible in the office,
especially with those who can help to complete your tasks.

Products and services of the company: It goes without saying that you would do your homework and conduct a thorough research on the products and the services offered by the company you are joining and customer feedback for their products and the services. Nobody will ever join a company that sells poor products. But there are many people who think of short-term benefits, which is something not desirable from a smart worker. You can judge the company by comparing it with the other companies producing the same products.

Goodwill of the Company: Before joining the company search thoroughly and gather as much information as possible about the company. Do not always go by the first impression that you form at the time of interview. Ask for sometime before joining the organization and utilize the time to do a bit of research on the company. Make sure that the company hasn’t been involved in some serious scams or blacklisted for some reason the previous year. If possible get in touch with the ex-employees of the company to know their view and working experience.

Work culture: There are a number of people who seek flexibility at their work place as they have to carry out many responsibilities outside the organization. This is especially applicable for the women workers who have to balance between their work and home. While joining a new company you should now whether the company offers flexible working hours or not. Do not opt for a company that cannot provide you with comfortable working facilities. In addition, make sure you are well aware of the benefits the company offers its employees.

Travel and Working hours: Before joining, get a clear idea of the total working hours from the management. Apart from that be sure whether you need to travel as a part of the job. If the new job requires 45 hours of travelling think carefully whether you will be able to handle the stress and fulfill the commitment. If you are well-suited to travel, make a note of the allowances and whether allowances are disbursed along with the salary or separately.

It is easy to turn down a job offer that is not suitable for you than leave it midway just after joining. This can be detrimental to your career. Therefore, consider these facts carefully before you consider joining a new company.
