This is the scope for you to talk about customer service skills and cash handling experience—the two foremost qualities to look for in a Bank Tellers’ job. If you had experience in this two areas, give an indication of your past experience fortified by one or two cases to prove your efficiency.

Give details of a case when you tackled an angry customer.

If you had any experience of such cases, you can relate it. If you do not have, think up some examples and come prepared to answer such questions. The interviewer is trying to assess your skills in resolving disputes and check your ability to do so without blowing your top.

If I ask your former boss, what would he tell us about you?

Be discreet in answering such questions. If you had good record in your previous job, you may say that you have done very well there but left the company for better prospects or personal problem. A prospective employer wants to hear that you have been a skillful person, a go-getter, and asset to a company and phrases like these. The more the potential employer hears such eulogies, the more inclined he would be to hire you.

What cash handling experience you have?

Good cash handling experience is an important qualification for a Bank Teller. You should be honest with your answers here. If you had outages, mention them and say how you located them.

Of all the banks in the area what made you select ours?

Due to ATM tellers, jobs have shrunk. You should have come prepared to talk about job ability in the bank where you have applied. Look at the banks website and see what their achievements are. Reiterate your strengths and show your enthusiasm for the job applied for.
