Explain difference between Pivot and Crosstab Query

Recent question for DBA position in NYC. My answer about Pivot tables in Excell didn't work very well. Interviewer was keep asking about what is crosstab query and how would I use it.

There is no difference. Basically you use pivot(or crosstab) queries then you are trying to create result set then row become columns or columns become rows. You can use PIVOT SQL statement to achieve it.
