In the workplace, trust needs to be performance-related. It is a trust that a person can get a certain project or assignment done. Since my assumption is that the individual would have not been assigned the task if it were felt that they might not be able to accomplish it, trust (again, speaking in terms of performance) is implicit in my workplace. It is the point from which I need to operate.

Trust goes hand-in-hand with respect, and the expectation is that just as it is expected from others, others can then expect it from me.
