As programs change and adapt to new goals, specific jobs need to be realigned as well. I once made a recommendation that job descriptions be reviewed and revised on an semi-annual basis. The perspective I wanted to reflect was that none of our jobs could remain static in an environment that was always evolving. With new responsibilities, employees were less inclined to find themselves ‘in a rut’, and the allure of re-visiting job descriptions on a regular basis was invigorating.
