Sample Response:
I view listening as 55% of the communication formula. In the workplace, co-workers and supervisors are resources. If I don’t actively listen and pay attention to what they are saying, I’m selling them (and myself) short. When I need clarification, I ask questions. When I attempt to apply what I’ve just been told to my own situation, I paraphrase and seek affirmation that I have understood the concept. Whenever possible, I utilize what I’ve just been told in order to promote further dialogue. My opinion is that everybody has something of value to say, and I always make an effort to demonstrate that opinion.
