buying direct text links: pros and cons

So does this stuff really work in 2009? For now, let's just talk about buying, since the downsides of selling are obvious. Also, we're talking about a legitimate website that's getting promoted - all that crazy medication crap is just not that interesting.

Well, let's put it this way: even in non-medication-crap world there is a ton of topics and keywords that require a lot of SEO work to get even a slight hope of making it to the top, and it will probably include getting some links somehow at some point.

It depends on how you define "works". And it will probably not "work" before you get good content or ideas going first.
